The ASEAN-German Programme on Response to Climate Change: Agriculture, Forestry and Related Sectors (GAP-CC) seeks qualified candidates from the ASEAN region for 3 positions:

Senior Advisor on Forestry Policy (Based in Jakarta)

Responsibilities:
  • Management of the component on Forest Issues of the ASEAN Multi-Sectoral Framework on Climate Change: Agriculture and Forestry towards Food Security (AFCC)
  • Providing professional advice to ASEAN Secretariat, member countries and other partners on regional standards of forest management, Forest Law Enforcement and Governance (FLEG) and REDD+

Qualification
  • Masters/MSc or Doctorate (PhD) in the field of Forestry Studies, Forestry Management, Forestry Resources and Environment or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional working experience in a similar position, preferably in an international environment
  • Fluent written and spoken English. Additional ASEAN languages preferable

2 (two) Senior Advisors on Climate Change & Management of Natural Resources
Based in Jakarta (possible placement in the Mekong region as of 2013 for one posting)

Responsibilities:
  • Professional advice to partners and relevant stakeholders on Climate Response Strategies and Climate Proofing under the ASEAN Multi-Sectoral Framework on Climate Change: Agriculture and Forestry towards Food Security (AFCC)
  • Responsible for coordination and implementation of climate response strategies in priority value chains, vulnerable regions and application of climate proofing methodology for national investment projects in the agriculture and forestry sectors

Qualification
  • Masters/MSc or doctorate (PhD) in the field of Climate Change, Agriculture, Rural Development or related fields
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional working experience in a similar position, preferably in an international environment
  • Fluent written and spoken English. Additional ASEAN languages preferable
